England star Joe Root is up to second in the ICC Test batting rankings after scoring 325 runs in the second Test victory over Pakistan in Manchester.
Scores of 254, the third highest ever at Old Trafford, and 71 not out in the 330-run win move Root up two places to sit behind Australia captain Steven Smith.
Captain Alastair Cook also moves up four places after 105, his first Test century since October 2015, and 76 not out helped him return to the top-10, in ninth position.
In the bowling department, the outstanding form of Chris Woakes sees him leap up 10 places in the rankings to 23rd.
After match figures of seven for 108 in Manchester followed 11 for 102
at Lord’s, Woakes has 18 wickets in two Test matches against Pakistan.
