Chelsea to make £48m defender bid in next few hours - reports in Italy

CHELSEA are preparing an improved offer of up to £48million for Kalidou Koulibaly, according to claims in Italy.

NEPTUNGIST understands Antonio Conte is pressing the Chelsea board to sign Koulibaly along with Romelu Lukaku before the transfer window closes.

The Blues have had a £42m offer for the Senegal international rejected by Napoli already.

 

 

But Italian website CalcioMercato claim the Stamford Bridge club will return with a £48m bid for Koulibaly within the next few hours.
The report says the Blues will face stiff opposition from Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis who wants the centre-back to stay for one more season before cashing in.

 

However, Conte hinted after last night's 2-1 win over West Ham that new signings could be on their way to south-west London.
“The market is very crazy, the club know my ideas and it’s important to find the right solution to improve this team, not to buy for the sake of it," he said.

“We are waiting for the right solution but I’m very happy to have these players because every day they show me a great attitude.
“There are two weeks and we'll pay attention, if we find the right solution that’s fine.”
