Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Gerard Pique will go up against Barcelona team-mates Ivan Rakitic and Sergio Busquets in the semi-finals of Goal's Yearbook Battle.

Messi's class of 1987, which also features Juventus' €90 million man Gonzalo Higuain, stormed into the last four on Tuesday, claiming 78 per cent of the votes in a landslide victory over Andres Iniesta & Co.



However, they will face a stiffer examination against the 1988 line-up, which boasts a stellar front four of Alexis Sanchez, Robert Lewandowski, Sergio Aguero and Mesut Ozil.
