The Toffee Deluxe is to be scrapped from tins of Quality
Street - forever!
The chocolate giant has decided to replace the long-
standing favourite, first introduced in 1919, with the
Honeycomb Crunch.
It is the first time in 10 years that a newbie has been
added to the confectionery collection, to coincide with
Quality Street's 80th birthday.

But the loss of the Toffee Deluxe's chewy goodness has
proved just a bit too much for some chocaholics.

Social media has been overrun with people expressing
their horror since the news broke.
Val O'Donovan tweeted: "Noooo - Toffee/caramels are my
faves! Hope the other sweet manufacturers don't follow
suit!"
And Nigel McFarlane said: "Our is a house in
mourning."
Meanwhile, Sonia Townsend said: "More bad news! First
#GBBO now #QualityStreet. Why oh why get rid of
#toffeedeluxe, when it's the strawberry and orange ones
that get left."
And Thomas Timperley added: "That's my Christmas
ruined."
Some people not quite as devastated though, with Glyn
Rogers championing the move...
The new addition can be found in a bronze and yellow-
coloured wrapper and it includes honeycomb segments
nestled inside a solid chocolate sweet.
Quality Street fans have taken to social media to express
their outrage at the unexpected and shocking changes.

Annular Eclipse To Occur All Over Nigeria On Sept. 1st

An annular eclipse that will be visible all over the country, with different degrees of totality, will occur on Thursday, September 1.

In a press statement, the Head,  Media and Corporate Communications of National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Dr Felix Ale, said the highest degree of obscurity in Nigeria during this natural occurence would be in the Southern part of the country, particularly in Lagos, where it was expected to have 80 per cent obscurity, while the lowest degree of obscurity would be about 45 per cent and this would be observed in the Northern part of the country, particularly in Sokoto.
The annular eclipse will be observed as a partial or near total eclipse across the nation, with Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) expected to be about 60 per cent.
The annular eclipse is expected to occur between 7.15 a.m. and 10.03 a.m, with slight variations in actual timing across the country.
In Lagos, the first contact will occur at about 7.15 a.m, while the maximum eclipse will occur around 8.30 a.m. and will end by 10.03 a.m.
The eclipse is expected to commence in Abuja around 7.17 a.m, with maximum eclipse to be recorded at about 8.32 a.m. and the eclipse will end around 10.00 a.m.
It should be noted that eclipse is not a spiritual issue, but a natural occurrence that can be accurately predicted by science. Hence, the NASRDA has developed the capacity to accurately make this prediction as part of its mandates.

After he got Davido’s attention, Davido then tweeted about him and some other guy ‘Dapo’. But fortunately only him got signed after they were both screened by the HKN Gang. In a recent interview, he mentioned he has been writing songs since he was eight years old. And that’s TALENT!

‘Don’t get it twisted its Puffy Tee on the beat’. Good music takes good production! Puffy Tee is a legend in the Nigeria music industry, he is well known for producing hit tracks for the likes of Olu Maintain, Eedris Abdulkareem, JJC, Oritshe Femi, to mention a few. 4. Davido’s Influence
From day 1, Davido has been in one way or the other promoting the boy before he even dropped a track, from snapchat diaries to twitter rants. He event went as far as threatening to pull a ‘Kanye’ if his new act does not win the controversial ‘Next rated award’ at Headies! Let’s wait till then. Baddest!!
5. His Mum’s Support
We all know the popular Nollywood actress, Toyin Adewale. Its hard to see African parents support their children to venture into the entertainment industry. But she was always there for her son.
Lets not forget she took to her Instagram page to thank Davido for acknowledging her son’s talent, which we believe is also factor that facilitated his signing to HKN/DMW. She also went as far as posing with ‘Eko’ on her birthday photoshoots tagging it ‘Iya Eleko’. Ori Iyamiii Elekoo …This is very rare in the music industry!
6. Proper Promotion
Good music is not just what it takes to blow! You also need a proper promotion plan to get your music out there, this was not difficult for the young lad as Davido already had everything covered. The next morning ‘Eleko’ dropped, Davido took his boy on a radio tour. There were rumors his views was bought, bought or not it all leads to money well spent and good promotion.
7. Shows On Shows
Even if views were bought, even if OAPs were paid…. Mayorkun has been killing shows from Club to Club, Schools to Schools, States to States! And him and the label are making their money. So why you carry carry fire fire for head?
8. Awards
Just four months after making his debut into the music industry, Mayorkun already has two awards on his cabinet to show case. Winning the “Most Promising Act” at City people awards and “New Song of the Year” at Nigerian Teen Choice Awards.

When A Woman Gives You Condom, Please Don’t Use It, Sean Tizzle Warns

“Sho lee” crooner, Sean Tizzle, is no doubt one of the toasts of the Nigerian entertainment industry at the moment. From churning out hit singles one after the other, to performing at high-paying gigs, it is safe to say he has been there, and done that.

His expensive taste in exquisite materials has also made him outstanding among his peers. In this interview, Sean Tizzle speaks on the many controversies that have trailed his short career, including his alleged skin bleaching and his supposed hiatus from the music scene.

What is new about Sean Tizzle?
Basically, I’ve been working. I was in the United States for a couple of months; I had a ten city-tour that ended late March. I’ve also been working on other things like trying to hook up international collaborations with artistes like Tory Lanez and a couple of other international artistes, so that was why I’ve been out of the country for a while.
I was in the States with my producer working on my album which features Tory Lanez; watch out for it because it’s going to blow your mind.
I’m actually trying to move to another level; maybe that was part of the reasons I’ve been away. Apart from working on my album, I’ve been giving back to the society. We have this NGO we are running where we provide chairs, desks and water for some communities, and it has been on for a while.
How did you come to choose music as a profession?
I studied theatre arts in school. I was supposed to study law because I used to talk a lot when I was growing up. You know when you are growing up and your parents notice that you have a particular characteristic, they will often link it to a profession and try to steer you in that direction. So, I was supposed to study law; I tried University of Lagos, but it didn’t work.
I tried the University of Ibadan where I chose law as my first choice and political science as my second choice, and it still didn’t work, so I just decided to opt for theatre arts. Apart from singing, I can act as well. I did a movie last year titled ‘Astray’ and I got good comments from people.
What do you think people don’t know about Sean Tizzle?
I am somebody who tries to live my life the best way I can, and I’m a good cook as well, so no girl can threaten me with that because I can take care of myself in that area. I also like to clean. But I don’t have a favourite food; maybe that’s why I like food.
How has the journey been so far?
I’m forever grateful to God and everybody who has been supporting the brand despite the fact that the media is trying to kill me by saying negative things about me.
They posted a picture of me on the Internet and say all sorts of things, saying my picture was not real. Yes, I did some photoshopping on the pictures to make myself look good but the negative comments that I had bleached my skin really got to me.
A whole lot of things happened, starting with Basketmouth and Sound Sultan’s issues, and nobody approached me to find out the truth about the issues if they were true or not.
That is the reason I don’t want to do interviews anymore, because anytime you do interviews they say the wrong thing to generate buzz and because they want to generate buzz they just say the wrong thing and people won’t read the whole story but only the headline.
How is your relationship like with Basketmouth after the misunderstanding?
I’ve never met him and we’ve never spoken. But I follow him on Instagram; I see what he’s doing and I like his job.
About your album, how soon should we expect it?
I’m dropping my album this year, but before that, I’m going to be dropping the lead single featuring Tory Lynez, titled ‘Hit and Run,’ telling all the girls out there how much men should respect them.
How would you rate the Nigerian music industry generally?
Actually, we are doing well because there was a time when we used to have a limited number of radio stations. Now, we have many more radio stations in Nigeria. At one time, there were no clubs, but the rate at which clubs are currently springing up in Nigeria has really helped a lot of music artistes. The music industry is growing, but we can still do better.
 Any plan of owning a record label?
Yes, I have a record label called Tizzle Nation. Have you signed any artiste? None presently, but we are planning to bring in a female on board. Her name is Oyinsola but her stage name is Onisola, and she’s dope.
Why don’t you do collaborations with other artistes?
It’s not like people don’t come to me for ‘collabos’ but if I’m not satisfied with it, I don’t jump on it; even if they are known artistes. I’m not feeling like I know too much, but I want to set my standard. That’s why I don’t have so many friends, and that’s why you’ll barely find me in a club because I know where I’m coming from and I have a family.
Why are you still single?
Maybe I’ve not seen the right girl. Even if I’m in a relationship, I will still like to keep it on a low-key because immediately they know that someone is my girlfriend, that’s when different temptations will start arising.
What are the things you want in a woman?
Just love me as much as I love you, because that’s the major thing. I’m not trying to be a tyrant, but at the same time, she has to respect me and understand where I’m coming from.
What is marriage to you?
I can’t really say because I’m still single, but at the same time, I want to have a home. I want to have kids and build a family.
Do you support the idea of having baby mamas which is very rampant in the industry?
It has never happened to me before, but at the same time, I don’t want to preach abortion. However, we should learn to be careful about things.
But if it happens, you need to ask yourself that between killing the baby and keeping the baby, which one is the best? And the only reason you have a baby mama is because you don’t want to kill, so what I’m trying to say is that nobody planned that for themselves; even condoms are not hundred percent safe.
I was with a girl and she told me that females put holes in condoms just to hook guys and have babies with them.
I was surprised, and that’s why they say when girls hand you condom, don’t use it. It’s better you have yours because some of them will punch holes in it and you won’t know because you are already in the mood.

So,in such situation, what do you do Would you just say she should go and kill the baby?
No. But it’s good to get married and do it the right way.
How did you come about your stage name, Sean Tizzle?
I actually changed my real name Seun to Sean but Tizzle just came from nowhere. But when I was in a group, I was known as Sean Tye.

Court Issues Arrest Warrant Against Ekiti APC Chairman Over Alleged Murder

An Ekiti State High Court sitting in Ijero-Ekiti has issued a warrant of arrest against APC Chairman in the state, Olajide Awe and three others to answer the charge of murder filed against them by the Ekiti state government.

The three other persons wanted in court are Faboro John Ojo, Aniramu Basiru and Falayi Busuyi.
They are being urged to defend themselves against alleged complicity in the murder of Ayo Jeje and Mrs. Juliana Adewumi in Erijiyan Ekiti on March 30, 2013.
But Awe, who asserted his innocence in the alleged killing, said the charge was politically motivated and brought against him and fellow APC members by the PDP-led state government to silence them and take them out of circulation.
He said the case had earlier been struck out by the court when no prima facie case was established against him and other accused persons.
Justice Bamidele Omotoso, who granted the order on July 25, said Awe and other accused persons must be produced in court by the Police on October 5, 2016, when the case comes up for hearing

Singer, Tekno Miles defends colleague, Reekado Banks by shutting down an abusive fan on social media.
Tekno shared a very short video on social media, while dancing to one of Reekado’s song, with the caption “reekado Banks #standard fire my jam”.
The abusive fan however came on Tekno’s page to make a rather unpleasant remark about the Mavin singer’s new track.

FUTA Suspends 4 Students Accused Of Internet Fraud By EFCC

The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) has indefinitely suspended four students of the institution arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged N16 million internet fraud.
The EFCC arrested five suspects – four from FUTA and one from Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba, (AAUA), on Monday.
The suspects were arrested at an Off- Campus residence located at Anuoluwapo Close, Stateline Hotel Road, off FUTA South Gate, Akure, Ondo.
A statement issued by the Head, Information and Protocol Unit of FUTA, Mr. Adegbenro Adebanjo, said the Vice Chancellor of the university approved the sanction.
The statement said:
“The four students, who have been given indefinite suspension and are to stay away from the school until further notice are – Ogundile A.O (Civil and Environmental Engineering), Fasakin P.T (Civil and Environmental Engineering), Akinsanmi F.O (Mathematical Sciences), and Ifeobu U.O (Urban & Regional Planning).
“In a letter conveying the suspension, the university said the Vice Chancellor approved the sanction based on the extant rules which stipulate indefinite suspension for students arrested and being investigated for criminal activities.
“This is in accordance with the provisions of the University Handbook of Information 2012-2015 page 54, paragraph 5(i) which states that, whenever a student is being investigated for a criminal offence by the police or is charged with a criminal offence; whether or not connected with the university; the student shall be suspended from his studentship until he/she is cleared of the allegation/charge.

Girl dies after being forced-fed acid, tortured, raped - In India

The gruelling experience of a teenager has been revealed after she died from being force fed acid, tortured and raped
The 14-year-old 'dalit' teenager from Delhi was reportedly tortured, repeatedly raped and force-fed acid before dying a painful death.

The victim is said to have been drugged and raped by her family's neighbour, kidnapping, torturing and raping her prior to a court hearing in May this year.

The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chairperson, Swati Maliwal said:

"She was forced to swallow a corrosive liquid, possibly an acid, by the man and 'died a very painful death."

She adds that the neighbour, identified simply as Shivshankar, was arrested only after the DCW became involved in the case.

Ms Maliwal tweeted:

"The girl was fed a corrosive substance which completely destroyed her internal organs and she died a very painful death.

"There are so many questions we can raise over the police action in this case? Why was the accused not arrested? Why was the Prevention of Atrocities Act not applied in this case?

"With parents of 14 year old victim. Very poor n inconsolable. How many Nirbhayas does Delhi want? We all simply wait for next Nirbhaya to die."

”Forget About Oil Drop From Niger Delta” Avengers React To Buhari’s Order On Oil Exploration In Northern Nigeria

 


Niger Delta Avengers, NDA, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari should go ahead with oil exploration in the North East, but should forget about export of a drop of crude oil from the Niger Delta.
The militant group, in a statement by its spokesman, Mudoch, entitled, “Your drones won’t stop us” alleged that the federal government was preparing for a military offensive in the region and using dialogue as delay tactics.
NDA said; “Also note that you will not be able to export one litre of crude in the Niger Delta, just intensify the oil exploration in the North East. As for the ones in the Niger Delta, forget about it because the Nigeria government won’t export a drop from our land,”
The statement read: “The NDA intelligence agency gathered that the said peace talk or dialogue by the federal government is a delay tactic employed by the federal government to enable their purchased drones that are said to arrive latest end of August from the United State.”
“This whole thing makes us to wonder what kind of country is this. We can all see that President Buhari- led government is a fraud. They are not serious about any dialogue and made it seem the Niger Delta Avengers are the ones not ready for dialogue.
“Mr. President you can purchase all the drones in Europe and Untied State. It will not stop the Niger Delta Avengers from bringing the country’s economy to zero. The worse you can do is to kill poor innocent people which the military is good at, but know the Nigeria Economy will suffer,” the group added.

Gobe!! Nollywood Actor Badly Burnt On Set In Fire Stunt Gone Wrong (Graphic Photos + Video)

A near death incident was averted on a Nollywood set recently when a promising actor, Ani Iyoho was badly burnt while playing a fire stunt on the set of movie director, Stanlee Ohikhuare.
An actor on set with Ani said while the actor was burning, the fire extinguisher on set did not work and Stanlee shocked everyone by continuing filming with the intention of adding the real fire incident to the film.
Ani, as we write has been hospitalised, with his colleagues running around to raise money for him.
All efforts to reach Stanlee has proved abortive and the producers of the movie Kelechi Udegbe and Ugochukwu Azikiwe have been on the run.
